About

Listening, servicing, delivering and changing lives

Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.”  Helen Keller

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts

In providing the expert and specialised medico-legal, risk, incapacity and claims dispute services that they do Burns-Hoffman Consulting (see ‘about us’) enjoys regular interaction with and support of an extensive professional network, including in-house senior counsel, an experienced financial group, and specialized digital marketing team; www.sproutemarketing.co.za.

Elise is fortunate to have frequent interaction with retired members of the bench, independent senior and junior counsel, numerous attorneys specialised in fields relevant to their areas of work, and a wide range of experienced experts in the medical and business arenas.

She incorporates into her daily work her experience and practice as a personal business coach, which continuously adds to her understanding of, and exposure to a broad spectrum of business, production and specialist areas of work.

Furthermore, her exposure to and the assessment of hundreds of actual working environments; job titles; key performance areas of work in different industries – white and blue collar, national and international – adds tremendous value to the success of an individual entering, re-entering and or transitioning in the working world, with or without having suffered an injury and or ill-health.

Our differentiating factor is our on the ground experience in the world of work

It is this very real understanding of the world of work that enables Burns-Hoffman Consulting to provide the level of robust professional opinion that is required when facing interrogation, challenge and or cross-examination.

There is no magic to achievement.  It is really about hard work, choices and persistence.’  Michelle Obama

Accommodation of the needs of others forms part of our service offering

Burns-Hoffman Consulting has a flexible approach to the manner in which assessments of individuals are carried out, and accommodate such wherever it makes the most sense for the client. This may be in the Burns-Hoffman consulting rooms in Wynberg, Cape Town; at the work place of the individual, which inevitably includes a worksite evaluation; at the individual’s home or at some another suitable venue of choice. The choice of venue and timing of any assessment, as well as the turn-around-time with regard to the delivery of the completed report and or opinion, are important factors that are taken into account when matters are referred and taken on, so as to ensure as optimal and timeous process as possible for all concerned.

Elise often works remotely, and has consulted extensively on Skype, Zoom and MST for many years from destinations all over South Africa and across the globe when traveling nationally and internationally, according to the needs of clients.
